How to Do Natural Gas Installation
The increasing use of natural gas by pipeline transportation is the most widely used heating and usage tool in houses and in many areas. In order to use this energy source, a natural gas installation must first be laid. How is natural gas installation done? You can find the necessary steps for this in our article.

What is Natural Gas?
Natural gas, which has been used extensively for many years, is a highly flammable hydrocarbon gas containing methane. It is found deep in the earth’s crust and is produced in pressurized beds. The factor that makes natural gas valuable is the high flammability effect obtained with low emissions.
Usage Areas of Natural Gas
- Use for heating: District heating, central heating, individual heating
- Use for culinary purposes
- Use for hot water purposes
- Natural gas used in factories
- Natural gas used for commercial sectors
- Natural gas used in power generation systems
- Natural gas used as vehicle and motor fuel
- Natural gas used in industry and production systems
Required Materials in the Construction of Natural Gas Installation
In order to benefit from natural gas safely, it is absolutely necessary to work with companies that are expert and experienced in their business. The installation to be laid must be in accordance with the project. All adjustments and parts of the installation must be made seamlessly. Parts conforming to TS and TS EN standards should be used. The materials required during the installation phase are as follows;
- Gas Valve
- Flex Hose
- PPRC Pipe
- Connection Clamps
- Hose Connection Unions
- TE Connection Unions
- KAS-TAK Indoor Installation Hoses
- Hose Channels and Attachments
- Pressure Regulator
- Combi Boiler and Heating Devices, etc.
Gas Valve: Gas valves are used to close and open the gas passage in the natural gas installation. These valves can regulate the pressure in the flow and the speed of the flow with advanced technology.
Flex Hose: Flex hoses are durable, leak-proof products made of stainless steel and flexible materials. Flex hoses used in natural gas installations have a very important value in terms of durability and impermeability and are very important in terms of usage health.
PPRC Pipes: PPRC pipes are produced from 3 different raw materials and are therefore used in different systems such as hot water, cold water, drinking water and liquid distribution installations. The reasons for choosing PPRC Pipes are;
- Having a light and smooth surface
- Having a slippery area where fluid passage is provided
- Being resistant to limescale and rust
- Being quite hygienic compared to other pipes
- Being easy to install and use
Connection Clamp: Connection clamps are also known as “P Clamp” or “Reinforced Clamp.” Connection clamps are used to fix pipes and stabilize the stability of the installation.
Hose Connection Unions: Connection Unions are the elements that connect the parts to each other so that the installed installation works correctly and regularly. If these Connection Unions are chosen correctly and appropriately, they increase the security of the system they are used in.
TE Connection Unions: If the pipes run along a long line in the systems to be installed, the connection elements used to protect the integrity and safety of the installation are called TE Connection Unions. TE Connection Unions are used to interlock pipes and flexes.
Indoor Installation Hoses: These are the hoses used in the installations to distribute the natural gas to be used to the flats and usage areas. These hoses must be produced in accordance with European Standards in terms of usage safety and health.
Hose Channels and Attachments: Hose channels are produced for use in the curved areas of the system and make the system more useful. Hose channels are named according to the places where they will be used. Hose channels and fittings are as follows;
- L Corner Hose Duct
- Outer Corner Hose Duct
- Inner Corner Hose Duct
- Wall Passage Cover
- Bellows
- Channel Passage Covers
- Counter Closure
- TE Closure
- Angled Outside Corner
- Angled Inner Corner
- Wall Transition Cover
Pressure Regulator: A pressure regulator or control valve is used to control the pressure occurring in the installations. Regulators are more affordable and smaller in size than control valves. Therefore, it is easily used in indoor installations. Control valves, on the other hand, are more expensive in cost and larger in size. Regulators are preferred for simple applications. Control valves are ideal for complex applications.
Combi Boilers and Heating Devices: These devices are the materials required for the system to be put into use. While combi devices provide the use of natural gas in the apartment, heating devices for the use of hot water.

Laying of Natural Gas Installations
After the natural gas installation project, the transition areas for the valves and pipes will be planned first. After the walls are drilled according to the project, the pipes and clamps, the dimensions of which were taken before, will be fixed. Then, if natural gas will be used as an energy system, devices for burning natural gas will be installed and finally the safety of the connections will be tested.
Indoor Natural Gas Installation
Indoor gas installation is highly preferred in houses due to its ease of use and environmental friendliness. The most important purpose of use is to provide hot water and heating. The natural gas we use in our houses reaches many devices such as the stove and heater through the main valve through the indoor natural gas installation and the building door. Indoor natural gas installations, pipes must be laid in flats in accordance with the project, in a planned and eye-catching manner. Before starting to use, subscribers must have their license and membership.
Materials Used in Indoor Natural Gas Installation
- Main Shutoff Valve
- Gas Distribution Pipe
- Meter Connection Line
- Device Connection Line
- Column Pipe
- Consumption Line
- Waste Gas Systems
- Division Line
Stages of Natural Gas Installation
Project Phase: The first phase of natural gas installations is the project phase. At this stage, a survey is made in the area where the installation will be laid and certain areas will be marked. With the project prepared by the engineer, the installation phase will begin.
Laying Phase: After the project phase, the safe and secure laying of the installation begins. During laying, the laying process is carried out with the materials mentioned above. The installation, which was laid in accordance with the project, will be put into use after being inspected and approved under the control of the engineer (gas distribution).
Factors to be Considered in Laying Natural Gas Pipes
Natural gas systems, which are highly preferred in terms of ease of use, are an energy system that should be considered when using and having them built. The main factors to be considered in the natural gas installation are as follows;
Pipelines must be easily accessible and should be easily intervened when necessary.
Connection and intersection areas must be covered with putty, linen, Teflon tape and medicine (whichever the gas distribution company allows).
The main gas pipe and the main shut-off valve must be mounted in such a way that they are not impacted.
The valve used in the installation must be a ball valve.
Gas carrier pipes made with steel raw materials must be easily accessible in case of danger.
The pipes used must be fixed with Connection Clamps.
Pipes must be made of corrosion-resistant materials.
In order to prevent a possible danger, the natural gas installation must be laid away from the electrical installation.
Natural gas installations must be installed in accordance with the regulations of the distributor company.
Natural Gas Meter Installation
By using flexible connection products in natural gas meters, the tension caused by meter connections must be prevented.
For a possible moment of danger, a Gas Stop Valve in accordance with TS EN 331 standards must be placed and mounted at an average height of 150 – 220 cm (within the height specified by the gas distribution company).
The mounted meters must be mounted with consoles, leaving a 2 cm gap from the wall and floor.
Natural Gas Installation Laying Prices
Natural gas installations vary in price according to the area and plan to be installed. Many companies go through different prices for laying, but the important thing here is not the suitability of the price, but the quality of the material used and the fact that the manufacturer is an expert in the field. Natural gas installation prices could be vary according to many factors. In this article, you have learned how to make a natural gas installation.
